SYRACUSE HOTTEST BEAT MAKER: KILLA TAZ
Born in Syracuse, NY in 1986, Taz began exploring his passion for music early on. In 1993, he started learning how to DJ from the son of a babysitter, setting the stage for his musical journey. By 1996, Busta Rhymes' "Woo-Haa" sparked my interest in music production and poetry, igniting a creative fire within him
Moving to Pittsburg, CA with his family in 2000, Taz remained committed to nurturing my musical aspirations. Forming a rap group called “Phat Kat” in 2004 with three friends, They recorded an unreleased group song and later established a sub-group called “Killa and Speedie,” producing four unreleased songs together.
The years that followed were marked by his involvement in various musical endeavors, including joining the group “SpitFire” in 2006 and relocating to Stockton, CA in 2007. During 2012-14, He reconnected with his love for music, crafting three mixtapes and collaborating with local artists, propelling my creative journey forward.
Embracing a newfound focus, in 2017, he delved into production and mixing, drawing inspiration from luminaries like Timbaland, Pharrell, and Quincy Jones. This led to a prolific 2020, where he released 2 instrumental EPs (“Feel The Vibe” and “FTV: Vol2”) and a collaborative track (“Tell It Like It Is” ft Madness).
Continuing to expand his musical horizons, Taz released the single “Bad One” in 2021 and dedicated myself to producing instrumentals and collaborating with local artists upon returning to Pittsburg, CA in 2022. These experiences culminated in my exciting entry into Infinity Solutions Management under the moniker Killa Taz in 2024..
