Biography 

KINGDSON

Darius Southerland, better known as King D Son was born and raised in Nashville Tennessee. Darius went from selling drugs at the age of fifteen to making music. He decided to give up on the drug game after the death of his older brother. Darius brother was gunned down in the projects in East Nashville. He was shot 9 times. That heartbreak moment gave Darius the motivation to never quit. Darius changed his name to King D Son during his music career. The name means “The son of King David” in the Bible. Darius felt since he grew up without a father It made sense, especially reading about David background. Darius related to his story and decided to move forward with the name.

 After a few years of rapping and during live shows Darius started to become discouraged because the music industry was harder than he thought. He quickly realized the friendships he once believed in were all fake. That’s when Darius learned about jealousy. Someone set Darius up one night around 2am, he was robbed in front of his mother house. Some guy pulled a gun on Darius and demanded money or he’s going to kill him. Darius survived that situation with only a couple broken bones in his foot.

 Darius switch careers a couple months after almost getting killed. He went into filming. He graduated college in 2017 Which makes him a certified film director. Darius made his first feature film called "BLEMISH" Darius also write / produce a cartoon show "The Petty Family" Darius really enjoys to be creative. Darius dreams doesn't stop at films, he wrote a book As well. Darius feels the struggle made him tough. Coming from the bottom scared him. He never wants to experience that part of life again.
