Biography KINGDSON Darius Southerland, better known as King D Son was born and raised in Nashville Tennessee. Darius went from selling drugs at the age of fifteen to making music. He decided to give up on the drug game after the death of his older brother. Darius brother was gunned down in the projects in East Nashville. He was shot 9 times. That heartbreak moment gave Darius the motivation to never quit. Darius changed his name to King D Son during his music career. The name means “The son of King David” in the Bible. Darius felt since he grew up without a father It made sense, especially reading about David background. Darius related to his story and decided to move forward with the name. After a few years of rapping and during live shows Darius started to become discouraged because the music industry was harder than he thought.
